This tour highlights the challenges of : The Cape’s extraordinary natural beauty alongside the pressures of socio-economic development aimed at alleviating widespread and grinding poverty; a city that is a global and cosmopolitan tourist destination – wealthy and ‘first-world’ in parts – but still struggling with its colonial and apartheid past and the remnants of economic, political and social oppression.
